The Y is the starting point for many youth to learn about becoming and staying active and developing healthy habits.

 

As soon as your child turns 8, he/she is welcome to work out with a parent or guardian in our Wellness Center, which is a great opportunity to introduce them to a healthy way of life as well as promote family fitness!
 

Ages 8 - 10:  May use cardio equipment only and must be under the direct supervision of an adult at ALL times.
Ages 11 - 15:  May use the strength equipment upon completion of Youth Fitness Fundamentals (with the exception of free weights)
Age 16+:  May use Wellness Center freely



Youth Fitness Fundamentals 

This class instructs teens how to work out safely and effectively within the Y Wellness Center. It introduces basic muscle anatomy, exercise concepts and guidelines, gym etiquette and safety practices. Once youth have successfully completed the program, they will be allowed to work out in Wellness Center without parental supervision.

AGES: 11 -15
WHEN: Offered continuously - schedule appointment at the Front Desk.
COST :  FREE for Y Members



Youth Group Fitness for Kids & Teens

Burn energy and get fit! On Mondays, Tuesdays, Wednesdays and Thursdays at the Boca and Boynton Y, kids get moving with calisthenics, fitness games and body weight exercises for a fun, yet challenging 45 minute class! Class size is very limited!

DeVos-Blum Family YMCA - Fit Kids
  AGES: 9 -14
  WHEN: Mondays, Wednesdays at 5:15pm
  COST: $50 Y Members, $80 Non Members

Peter Blum Family YMCA - Teen Strength and Conditioning
  This class is geared towards young athletes or those working on strength, agility or movement for sports performance. For Y  Members only!
  AGES: grouped ages 11-16 
  WHEN: Wednesdays at 6pm in Wellness Center
  COST: FREE for Y Members

Youth Triathlon - PETER BLUM FAMILY YMCA ONLY

This program prepares your child to perform their best while swimming, biking and running! Designed to highlight essential skills necessary to teach your child about running and triathlons, this program's focus ranges from speed work to endurance training to learning about transition. 

AGES: 5-11
REQUIREMENTS: Child must be able to swim 25 yards without stopping and pedal without training wheels.
WHEN: Mondays 5p-6p (biking), Wednesdays 5p-6p (running), Friday 5p-6p (swimming) 
COST (per season):  Y Members $275, Non-members $375.
Running only: Y Members $100, Non-members $150
SEASON: Select "Register" for season dates

All participants receive a FREE tshirt and will participate in a fun team race at the end of the season!

 

Youth and Teen Run- PETER BLUM FAMILY YMCA ONLY

All skills welcome! This program prepares athletes with endurance and speed training to feel their best while running! This is a 4-week session that concludes with a race. 

AGES: 5-18
WHEN: Mondays & Wednesdays, 5p-6p (ages 5-11), 6p-7p (ages 12-18)
COST: $80 members, $150 non-members (includes race entry fees)
