SUNSENTINEL- Marjory Stoneman Douglas High school student Catie Krakow has raised $9,075 to support aquatics at the Peter Blum Family YMCA in Boca Raton . She was a friend and classmate of Nicholas Dworet, who was killed along with 16 others students during the Feb. 14 mass shooting at the Parkland school.
Catie said she was inspired by Dworet, a swimmer, to start a GoFundMe page to raise the money, which she presented to YMCA of South Palm Beach County president and CEO Jason Hagensick on May 31.
