Supporting Youth Achievement Programs at the Y

Earlier this month, more than 70 teens attended our YMCA’s Teen Achievers Summit held at The LAB at the Peter Blum Family YMCA. This annual summit hosts activities, workshops and local professional speakers that engage teens in learning how to make positive choices for their immediate and long-term future, as well as how to contribute to their community. Workshops include volunteer-led courses with topics ranging from financial management to matching an individual’s passions to career opportunities. 

The Summit also incorporates a volunteer activity with a local charity, offering participants the chance to give back while learning about the challenges others may face. 

While the Summit hosts several educational and vocational activities, it also serves as a safe space for teens to connect with a group of their peers outside of the classroom.
