The YMCA of South Palm Beach County Group Membership Program is a partnership offered to businesses in our community that would like to help their employees improve their health and wellness, while at the same time become a part of a charitable organization. Our mission at the YMCA is to build strong kids, strong, families, and strong communities. By partnering together, we can form a relationship that will help us achieve our goal of a stronger community.

Our Group Membership program will also help ensure that your employees are performing at their peak- in spirit, mind, and body. Our program can help improve employee morale, retention, and the overall well-being of your employees. This partnership also allows for enhanced opportunities for volunteerism and community involvement.

Benefits of Group Membership:
When you decide to partner with the YMCA, we will create a program that is specific to your company or organization’s needs. With different Group Membership options, we can tailor a program that is right for you.  Your Group Membership can include some or all of the following:

• Group Rates for your employees, which means no initiation fees and 20% off membership as long as you maintain 10 active Group memberships

YMCA Group Membership Program FAQs

What is a Group membership? It is a partnership offered to businesses in South Palm Beach County that wish to enhance the health and well being of their employees.  This partnership allows corporations and their employees to join with the YMCA, a non-profit, charitable organization, to build a stronger community.  Employees can feel better, work better and have new opportunities for their families.  By getting to know the YMCA, employees will also gain opportunities for volunteerism and community involvement.

Who is eligible for Group membership? Any company or organization that can maintain 10 or more YMCA memberships from its base of paid employees or members.    Group members may come from small businesses, large corporations, healthcare facilities, school districts, membership organizations, chambers of commerce, houses of worship, neighborhood associations and many others.

How much does Group membership cost my company? There is no cost to your organization to set up this program.

How many employees are needed to qualify? Ten. (Current YMCA members count toward this minimum but do not receive reimbursement for their join fee.) Small businesses/organizations with less than 20 employees need only 5 members. The first 10 or 5 must be signed up at your site at one time as well as 10 memberships must be maintained at all times.

Why would this interest my company? Group membership is a great way to bond together and better our local community. It is a chance to show your employees how much they mean to you. Through Group membership, you can increase workplace productivity, decrease absenteeism, decrease employee turnover, decrease health care costs, increase employee morale and improve your Group image!

What are the benefits of Group membership? First, we waive the joining fee one time for all employees. (No refunds are given to current members; current members may take advantage of the fee reduction once Group membership is established.) Secondly, we provide wellness programs & events to fit your employees' needs. These programs include: on-site fitness classes, Free Y Weeks for your employees to come explore what the YMCA has to offer, Group sports teams, Group wellness challenges and team building activities. You name it, and we can make it happen!

Are employee’s family members eligible for this benefit? Yes, we have family and couple membership options, but the employee must be the primary name on the membership.

What does my YMCA membership include?  Access to world-class YMCA facilities in Boynton Beach & Boca Raton, guest passes, state-of-the art fitness equipment, gymnasium, two indoor pools, group fitness classes for adults & children, whirlpool, sauna & steam room, free child watch with family memberships, youth & adult sports programs, personal training, preschool for 3-5 year olds, summer camps, toddler & youth programs, spinning classes, yoga classes, a Pilates studio, massage therapy, a teen center, and more! We also encourage members to get involved in the YMCA through volunteerism and support. 

What are your Group membership rates? Group member monthly rates are the 20% lower than regular rates for our members. 

 
Do we have to have 10 employees? Yes, to qualify for our Group Rates. However, we do offer Free Y Weeks for your company and during those times, your employees can benefit from no initiation fees (which start at $100.) Plus, there are other opportunities to get involved with the Y.

Are there contracts? We do not require members to sign long-term contracts.  Membership fees are collected through a bank or credit card draft monthly.  Members can cancel any time with a 30 day notice. We feel that once you experience membership at the YMCA, you never want to leave.

How would our company lose its Group membership status?  By not maintaining 10 employee memberships.  At this time, we notify your company of its status and your current employees that are members will be notified of their rate changes.
